Identify the pump and valve together

Record the complete valve number, including its suffix. Photograph the pump plate, engine identification and installation. Keep the pump assembly reference separate from a repair-kit number.

Check the control type

DENSO describes normally open and normally closed SCVs. Their unpowered positions differ. A similar enclosure or connector does not establish the correct control type.

Compare the physical connections

For the enquiry, photograph the connector face and keying, pin count, mounting holes, body length and seal arrangement. Retain the uncompressed originals so the markings remain readable.

Send the useful diagnostic information

Include starting behaviour, recorded fault information and available pressure-test results. A symptom is enquiry information; the assessment still needs to identify the actual component and applicable procedure.
